James Malone

Applied Physiology and Kinesiology

Chronicling the intersection of a full time slacker and partime researcher at Monash and Deakin University

About Me

James Malone

Hi, I’m James Malone, a UF student studying Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, which basically means I’m really interested in how the human body works, breaks down, adapts, and somehow keeps going.

This summer, I’m in Melbourne through SUIRP doing research at Monash University. My main interests are muscle physiology, cancer, exercise, and medicine, especially how research can help us better understand recovery, disease, and human performance.

Outside of school, I’m an EMT, former ocean rescue lifeguard, fraternity president, current medical school applicant, and amateur mountaineer lol.

This blog is my attempt to document the summer honestly: the research, the people I meet, the places I explore, the mistakes I make, and hopefully a few moments where I actually look like I know what I’m doing.
